A concise overview
This browser-based checker validates arithmetic claims. Energent Audit goes further by recomputing deliverables, tracing figures to source rows and fields, attaching evidence, fixing what it can, and issuing a pass or fail verdict before delivery.
What Is AI Invoice Analysis Verification?
AI invoice analysis verification is the process of checking whether invoice totals, vendor summaries, category figures, growth rates, and other financial assertions are supported by the original records. It matters because a plausible number can still use the wrong comparison base, omit rows, or make an inference that the source files do not support. Finance, accounting, procurement, operations, and analysts use verification to replace blind trust with a reviewable chain from claim to evidence.
AI Invoice Analysis Verification Tool — Use It Free Below
Use the result as a review aid, not as a substitute for source documents or accounting judgment. A claim marked fail should be corrected, removed, or supported before delivery.
How to Use This Tool
- Enter the current-period invoice or spend total and the prior-period comparison total. These values are used to recompute the percentage change.
- Enter the growth percentage stated in the AI-generated report. The checker compares that claim with the mathematically correct rate.
- Add the source row count and any vendor or category totals that appear in the deliverable. These values make the review record more concrete.
- Optionally enter an unsupported statement, such as a quarter-over-quarter category claim. The tool will show that the statement needs source evidence rather than treating it as proven.
- Review the pass or fail summary, then return to the underlying invoice rows, spreadsheet cells, or source files before approving the deliverable.
How Invoice Verification Works
The checker recomputes a growth rate from the two supplied totals and compares it with the claimed rate using a small tolerance for rounding. It also records the supplied row count and financial figures as review context. An independent audit workflow such as Energent Audit adds source tracing, evidence attachments, deliverable-cell references, and checks for unsupported inferences.
Recompute
Recalculate totals and rate claims from the entered figures.
Trace
Connect a result to source rows, fields, and deliverable locations.
Verdict
Separate supported results from claims that need correction or evidence.
Example AI Invoice Verification Results
| Check | Source-backed value | Finding | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Total Q1 spend | $1,284,500 across 412 rows | Sum matches to the cent | Pass |
| Q4-to-Q1 growth | $1,147,000 prior total | Correct rate is 12.0%, not 18% | Fail |
| Top vendor | Acme Logistics: $312,000 | Highest vendor amount | Pass |
| Logistics category | $512,000 | Grouped category total | Pass |
| Software category | $298,000 including $84,000 prepayments | Accounting methodology needs disclosure | Partial |
| Software QoQ growth | No prior-quarter software line | 30% claim is unsupported | Fail |

When to Use This Tool
- If you are reviewing an AI-generated invoice summary, use this tool to test the arithmetic before circulating it.
- If you are a finance or accounting team, use it to identify incorrect comparison bases and unsupported growth statements.
- If you are in procurement or operations, use it to review vendor and category totals before approving a spend report.
- If you are an analyst working with spreadsheets, use it to create a quick numerical sanity check before a deeper source audit.
- If you need defensible evidence, use Energent Audit to extend the check into source-file, row, field, and deliverable-cell tracing.
Limitations & Assumptions
- This on-page checker validates entered numbers; it does not open or inspect uploaded invoice files.
- A passing calculation does not prove that the source records are complete, correctly classified, or properly authorized.
- Rounding can create small differences, so the tool allows a limited tolerance when comparing percentage claims.
- Accounting treatment, including whether annual prepayments should be amortized, requires the applicable accounting policy and professional judgment.
- An unsupported claim should not be treated as false solely because the available inputs do not contain evidence; it should be investigated and supported or removed.
